All right then, let's check in with Winslow again, this time training a new employee. Let's have a look.

MUSIC: A QUICK, BOUNCY INTRO.

Oh, yes, all diskettes, whether back-up or original, must be labeled with these two pieces of information. Otherwise, you'll end up looking for a needle in a haystack.

All right. Sally, for your first complete keyring, what two pieces of information was Winslow talking about?

Labeling diskettes with disk content and...um...

Hurry.

Um...disk creation date.

BELL SOUNDS AND AUDIENCE APPLAUDS

A TAKE-OFF OF LARRY KING LIVE. Lenny Kling is speaking with guest, Dawn Meadows, who is extolling the benefits of the “Parts Link” system. The segment here occurs in the middle of the film. Lenny is speaking to Ron on live video, an appliance parts guy in his office, who we have met previously. He is on a screen behind Lenny.

AUDIO:

Then what?

(Talking to camera and demonstrating to show how easy it is.) After the call is completed, or anytime after that, I simply enter the amount, the part used, and the time spent on the service call. After that I can even create the NARDA form.

Thanks Ron.

Whoa, Whoa, Wait a minute, about my customers...

That's okay, Ron..

...I can send them a complete...

Ron...

...order form. It's really fantas...

RON...!

...tic. All the information right on the form.....

We'll come back to Ron in a couple of minutes. Apparently he still has a lot to say.

AUDIO on Ron's screen FADES TO SILENCE. Though we still see Ron talking before his screen is wiped away.

Dawn, even I have to admit I'm starting to be impressed. Is “Parts Link” making an impact?

The people that I've talked to don't know how they've gotten by without it, I mean some folks are a little wary at first about computerizing their business,

We'll ask Gladys about that..

Gladys?

I was a little nervous at first, but what I've found is it made my life a whole lot easier...I'm better at my job. (Pointedly directed at Harry) I can even take a real lunch break now.

(Turns and walks to her.) Now she can leave work an hour early and go home and fix dinner. (She elbows him.) Ow!

Created for The Red Ladder Company, a community outreach theater program for kids.  With release of video, donations increased 400%, season expanded from 3 months to year-round, and program won numerous community and National Awards.

AUDIO:

MUSIC:  UPBEAT

THE NARRATOR BEGINS TO SPEAK.  HIS VOICE IS RESONANT AND PLEASANT.

Formed in 1992, Red Ladder is the San Jose Repertory Theater's award winning social outreach program. Red Ladder is an improvisational theater company that combines performances based on themes based of strong social issues. Issues central and specific to the lives of the audience.

AUDIO COMES UP ON ACTORS PERFORMING.  WE HEAR THEIR VOICES, CLEAR THEY SPEAK OF A STRONG SOCIAL ISSUE.

Workshops explore and develop the creative process. By performing with, rather than for their audience, Red Ladder company members encourage participants to explore their hearts and minds and imaginations... and unearth a wealth of possibilities. Giving them the tools with which to forge a brighter future for themselves...and for their community.

AUDIO: Song changes to piano; slow, languid, and tender.

Red Ladder. It's a rehearsal for a healthy life.
